Born in Mauritania, raised in Senegal, and having lived in France, the US, and the UK, Alassane Sy’s ongoing global journey has shaped his keen sensibility. His creativity has taken him across continents, from acting in New York in the acclaimed 2011 picture ‘Restless City’, to directing his shorts ‘Fallou’ and ‘Marabout’ in Dakar and founding Africa–focused media brand Nataal in London. In everything he does, Alassane looks to dig deeper into and celebrate West African history and culture, as well as bring people together.
