Montana ➔ Northern Kenya

For American photographer and Nikon ambassador Ami Vitale, photography helps pave her path to global awareness. From behind the camera, Ami has explored far and wide, bearing witness to conflict, community, resilience and hope. Having worked for the Associated Press and National Geographic, Ami has shot in Kosovo, Angola, Gaza and Guinea-Bissau. In recent years, the Montana–based storyteller and educator has turned her gaze to the plight of human–animal conflict, and has worked to save the northern white rhino and assisted in reintroducing pandas into the wild. Her non-profit Vital Impacts now seeks to amplify conservation initiatives and assist grassroots projects. Through this passionate and hope-filled work, Ami finds herself returning time and again to the magnetic beauty of Northern Kenya.
