British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori has had a lifelong fascination with the objects and spaces that surround us, the stories they can tell and the emotions they can evoke. From his childhood obsession with a yellow and orange tricycle to designing a candy-coloured basketball court that lights up London’s otherwise gray and corporate Canary Wharf, Ilori wants to create objects and spaces that spark joy for the people and communities they serve. After establishing his own practice in 2017, ​​Ilori has continued to create public art that blends his own Nigerian heritage with contemporary British design in a bold and playful way.
