"I studied at the National Art School, and I love their nighttime events and the different shows. That space is inspiring, and anyone visiting Sydney should wander through it because it's a beautiful former jail. It's great to see all the artists that study there sitting around on the lawn, drawing."

Eliza Gosse

The National Art School, located on Gadigal land in Darlinghurst, Sydney, has celebrated a century at the former Darlinghurst Gaol site. Its art education roots date back to 1843 when John Skinner Prout conducted classes at the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts on Pitt Street.
