The National Art School, located on Gadigal land in Darlinghurst, Sydney, has celebrated a century at the former Darlinghurst Gaol site. Its art education roots date back to 1843 when John Skinner Prout conducted classes at the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts on Pitt Street.
