About Hans Ulrich OBRIST
When Art Review names you the Most Powerful Person in Art not once, but twice, you clearly have enormous global presence – something Hans Ulrich Obrist has cultivated over decades of travel and being ‘magnetically attracted’ to big cities. Currently the Artistic Director of the Serpentine Contemporary Art Gallery in London’s Kensington Gardens, the Swiss-born artist admits to spending 300 days a year traveling in the 1990s, taking in most of Europe and all the energy that came with it. We spoke with Hans Ulrich about his journey from Zürich to London, where he finds inspiration, and a few unexpected places to visit at 3am.
