A visit to Japan to see his grandparents connected California resident Michael Peng with his culture at an early age, and sparked the notion that he would one day return to Tokyo to work. Sure enough, Michael spent almost a decade as a Co-Founder, Managing Director and Partner at IDEO, bringing a new perspective to Japanese design, and acting as a ‘creative catalyst’ for top Japanese organizations to emerging start-ups and educational institutions. Although now based in San Francisco, Mike's work as Chief Creative Officer at venture studio and innovation hub Moon Creative Lab still ties him to Japan, which he visits regularly.
