"Basement Theatre is the place for smaller shows and upcoming shows. They have indie theater and also comedy as well – particularly during the comedy festival. On Friday nights consistently they have this thing called Snort which is an improv comedy thing that a lot of comedians coming out of Auckland go to."

"One of the joys of being in Auckland is getting out of Auckland. Leigh is an hour's drive north of the CBD, at the very northern tip of Kawau Bay. Leigh Sawmill is a venue/restaurant/brewery. It's got a bit of a cult reputation and sometimes it can be surprising the caliber of artists who will play there."
