"La Tupina is a great restaurant that serves primarily southwestern food and they’re most known for their chicken with fries — it’s a chicken that comes from the Ferme de Vertessec, which is one of the most amazing farmers in the area, and their fries are fried in duck fat. So good."

"Rue Notre Dame is fantastic for antiquing. There are at least eight shops along the way and you just wander in and out of them — just make sure you go early morning or later in the afternoon because they all close for lunch."

"Au Bistrot is one of the best places for lunch or dinner in town. It’s right next to the Marché des Capucins and it’s a very ingredient-led, special restaurant that’s really about what’s in the market that day."

"There’s this really amazing shop with a charcuterie master. It’s an incredible store where he sells wine and great cheeses and of course, the charcuterie that he himself makes. That has been a fantastic addition to the area and it’s really about dedication and knowing his craft."

"Another person that is really prolific in the area, who has sort of changed the face of Bordeaux is Jean-Michel Cazes. He’s the owner of Lynches Bages, which makes higher end wine. His son, Jean-Charles, now runs Lynches Bages and he’s also a really dynamic character."

"There’s an incredible historic bakery that’s probably one of the most caught-in-time places I’ve ever been in. It’s been around for several hundred years and it’s one of those places you could just lose yourself in. They have an area at the back where you can sit down and order coffee."

"There’s an incredible bicycle shop that our friend Clement owns and it’s so adorable. His father is retired and goes all across Brittany finding vintage bicycles, then Clement fixes them up. He adds super nutty levels of detail to the bikes. The shop also has incredible interiors."
