Lucy Hopkins, aka LUSAINT, spends her days soaking in the creative energy of her hometown, Manchester — from cozy libraries and galleries to cocktail bars and artisanal sourdough spots in the lesser-known pockets of the city. 'Manchester has a really special place in my heart, and I hope it becomes special for you too.'

This rainy city gave the world Chemical Brothers, The Smiths, and that band called Oasis. The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, The Buzzcocks and Joy Division… Was there something in the water? Or was it their clubs, rockin’ venues, record stores and raves?

"One of the main music venues that I go to a lot is Matt & Phreds in the Northern Quarter. It’s a heavily influenced jazz bar, and they have live music every night. I go as much as I can to see the live music. It's always a really cool atmosphere. It's kind of an institution. And it holds so many amazing memories — from watching incredible bands to performing there myself and meeting my boyfriend!"

"The Deaf Institute is also a favorite venue. I love the stage set up with the amazing interior on stage and around the bar area. It’s a very intimate setting which makes for an incredible show. I watched Matt Corby at this venue and it still stands as my favorite concert I’ve ever been to."
